Lifeway donates Bibles
On Aug. 20 the campus came alive with excited and nervous new students and parents. And like every other year, they were greeted with smiles, cold drinks and food in abundance.
This year LifeWay donated a Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB) to every new freshman on campus. In fact, they donated HCSBs to new freshmen in 20-30 schools of differing denominational backgrounds across the U.S., according to Jedidiah Coppenger, Lifeway’s brand manager for the HCSB.
“There are a number of good translations out there, but the fact that it [the HCSB] uses some updated insights from 21st century scholarship and up-to-date speech patterns is really helpful, especially to younger college students,” said Coppenger. We hope it helps your ministry and helps the students personally as they become more aware of the HCSB.”
LifeWay’s Website states that through its publishing division, B&H Publishing Group, LifeWay has produced one of the most accurate and readable Bible translations ever – the Holman Christian Standard Bible. LifeWay is a religious nonprofit organization that receives no funding from the denomination and reinvests income above operating expenses in mission work and other ministries around the world.
“CSU’s incoming freshmen will appreciate this gift from LifeWay. And more importantly, students will be challenged to read and experience the Truth of God’s Word,” said Dr. Rick Brewer, vice president for student affairs and athletics.
